Graphic Illustration
This course covers the tools and techniques used to create graphic illustrations for various types of print advertising.
Here you will explore the nuances of the Pen Tool, especially using the Bezier Handles to bend and adjust the Pen Tool lines. This will gain practice using basic vector graphic tools, Strokes, Fills, Placing images, working with Layer arrangements.
Choose an object which can be viewed from different angles. Experiment with several objects before choosing one–the success you have with this project is related to choosing an object which is interesting, identifiable and gives different visual options. You will put your drawings in an 11 art board Illustrator file. (Some folks take photos of an object from three points of view, then trace the photos...)
Information Graphics present an object, process or idea using visual graphics and text-labels in a simplified format. These diagrams are used to inform and educate the viewer. Their design includes a title, a paragraph explanation, graphics of an object(s), with labels that explain various parts of the object. Google "information graphics" to see some examples.
